Ljubljana, 27 April - Schedule of events in the week from 28 April to 5 May:

MONDAY, 28 April

LJUBLJANA - Danish Defence Minister Svend Aage Jensby is to arrive on a two-day visit to Slovenia upon the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Anton Grizold. The Danish defence minister will also meet heads of the parliamentary committees for defence and foreign policy, Rudolf Petan and Jelko Kacin. Meeting with FM Dimitrij Rupel is scheduled for Tuesday.

BRUSSELS - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to take part in the session of the European Parliament committee on foreign affairs, human rights, and common foreign and security policy. He is to present activities and plans in connection to Slovenia's upcoming membership in the EU.

VIENNA - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Franci But is to attend a two-day ministerial conference on the protection of forests in Europe, in Vienna. The fourth such conference will be attended by representatives of 35 countries who are expected to sign several documents on forest protection.

LJUBLJANA - Defence minister Anton Grizold is to receive the president of the steering committee of the multinational Stand-by High Readiness Brigade (SHIRBRIG), retired Lieutenant General Ray Crabbe, and Carolyn Keeler of the SHIRBRIG steering committee, and sign a memorandum on Slovenia's co-operation in this brigade.

TUESDAY, 29 April

BRUSSELS - Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor is to attend a traditional meeting between the president of the European Parliament and parliamentary speakers of the EU candidate countries. Enlargement Commissioner Guenter Verheugen and External Relations Commissioner Chris Patten are also to address the meeting.

BAD TATZMANNSDORF - FM Dimitrij Rupel and his Austrian counterpart Benita Ferrero Waldner are to present the advantages of EU enlargement to the forum entitled "The Meeting of Austria and Slovenia".

LJUBLJANA - The National Statistical Office is to hold a press conference in which the latest economic and social indicators will be presented.


LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its regular weekly session.

BRUSSELS - Slovenia is to take part in the EU's COREPER I and COREPER II sessions for the first time as observer. It will be represented by Ambassador to the EU Ciril Stokelj and his deputy Marjeta Jager.


LJUBLJANA - Slovenia marks Labour Day, a public holiday.

KASTELLORIZ - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to take part in an informal meeting of the EU foreign ministers between 1 - 4 May.


LJUBLJANA - Bank holiday.

BRUSELS - Minister of Environment, Spatial Planning, and Energy Janez Kopac is to take part in an informal meeting of the EU member states' and candidates' environment ministers between 2 and 4 May.


TASHKENT - Slovenian delegation led by Finance Minister Dusan Mramor is to take part in a two-day assembly meeting of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

DACHAU - Slovenia's Consul General in Munich Matjaz Jevinsek is to take part in an international commemoration upon the 58th anniversary of the liberation of a former concentration camp Dachau. Two former internees from Slovenia are also to take part.
