Ljubljana, 8 June - Schedule of events in the week from 9 to 15 June:
MONDAY, 9 June
WASHINGTON - Speaker of the Slovenian Parliament Borut Pahor and an accompanying delegation of parliamentary officials are set to begin a three-day visit to the United States. On his first visit outside of Europe, Speaker Pahor is to meet with representatives of the U.S. Congress, with topical bilateral and international issues expected to be on the agenda.
BLED - The 16th international e-business conference is set to be launched with this year's focus on "e-transformation" - the electronic reform of business activities. The three-day conference is being staged by the Maribor Faculty of Management, the Slovenian government, the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and the European Commission.
LJUBLJANA - An international round table on e-business, e-government and access to public information is to be put on by the organisation Consumers International and the Slovenian Association of Consumers. The conference is to be attended by participants from Slovenia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Great Britain and the U.S..
LJUBLJANA - British Minister for Competition, Consumers and Markets Melanie Johnson is scheduled to begin a visit to Slovenia. Johnson is expected to meet with Slovenian Economics Minister Tea Petrin on Tuesday.
TRIESTE - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Crtomir Spacapan is to meet with representatives of the Slovenian regional business association from Trieste. Business co-operation with minority organisations in Italy is to be touched upon at the meeting.
TUESDAY, 10 June
LJUBLJANA - Romanian Foreign Minister Mircea Geoana is scheduled to arrive in Slovenia for a visit at the invitation of Slovenian counterpart Dimitrij Rupel.
BLED - A mixed commission of Italy and Slovenia on economic co-operation is to begin its two-day session.
GENEVA - Slovenian Labour Minister Vlado Dimovski is to take part in a session of the International Labour Organisation.
WEDNESDAY, 11 June
LJUBLJANA - Foreign Minister of Serbia-Montenegro Goran Svilanovic is to pay a visit to Slovenia at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Dimitrij Rupel.
BRUSSELS - Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and lawmakers Alojz Peterle and Jelko Kacin are to attend the final three-day plenary session of the Convention discussing the future make-up of the EU.
LUXEMBOURG - EU Agriculture Ministers are to hold a two-day meeting aimed at finding agreement on reform of the common agriculture policy. The meeting is to be attended by ministers of the EU acceding countries in the capacity of observers, among them Slovenian minister Franci But.
GARMISCH-PARTENKIRCHEN - Slovenian Defence Minister Anton Grizold is to take part in the ceremony marking 10 years of the European Defence Studies Centre.
LJUBLJANA - Irish Deputy Prime Minister and Enterprise Minister Mary Harney is due to begin a visit to Slovenia at the invitation of Slovenian Economics Minister Tea Petrin.
THURSDAY, 12 June
PRAGUE - Slovenian President Janez Drnovsek is to pay a working visit to the Czech Republic.
BRUSSELS - NATO Defence Ministers are to hold a regular half-yearly meeting, also attended by ministers from seven countries invited to join the Alliance. The meeting is to be attended by Slovenian Defence Minister Anton Grizold.
LJUBLJANA - The government is to hold its regular weekly session.
LJUBLJANA - A two-day international forum on regionalisation is to be put on by the Slovenian Interior Ministry in collaboration with the Council of Europe. Foreign and domestic experts are to present models and experiences in regionalisation during the forum.
PORTOROZ - The tenth annual days of Slovenian tax advisors are set to be launched. The traditional meeting is to last for three days.
FRIDAY, 13 June
LUXEMBOURG - Slovenian Environment Minister Janez Kopac is to take part as an observer at a regular session of EU environment ministers.
WROCLAW - Slovenian Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to take part at a meeting of foreign ministers from the Central European Initiative.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary commission for the Constitution is to vote on the final package of proposed constitutional changes.
SATURDAY, 14 June
LJUBLJANA - Slovenians living around the world are to meet at the traditional annual meeting. The meeting is to be addressed by Foreign Ministry State Secretary Crtomir Spacapan.
