State Administration Reform Taken One Step Further
Ljubljana, 27 June - The comprehensive reform of the Slovenian state administration will be taken a step further on 28 June, when the act on civil servants will enter into effect. The same day, employment will terminate for heads of 19 government services and 53 ministerial bodies. In order to make them independent of day-to-day politics, new officials are to be appointed to the vacant posts for five-year terms by the time the government's term in office expires at the end of 2004.
