Ljubljana, 5 July - This time the speech of the new presiding over the EU was moderate, without visions, yet still liberal and general enough to evoke approval in the European Parliament. Italian PM Silvio Berlusconi contained himself even as the back benches in the parliament displayed posters "The Law Applies to All" and "Europe Needs No Godfathers". MEPs also did not notice that Berlusconi admitted for the first time in public that the Italian parliament passed three laws under his government which protect him from the judiciary, comments Saturday's Dnevnik.
