LJUBLJANA - The government is to convene for an extraordinary session at which it is to discuss the macro-fiscal framework for the 2004-2007 period and the proposed distribution of budget funds as a basis for the 2004 and 2005 budget drafting.

LJUBLJANA - At a 1 PM press conference, head of the Competition Protection Office Andrej Plahutnik is to explain reasons for office's ruling on the consolidation between brewers Pivovarna Lasko and Pivovarna Union.

BRUSSELS - In his role as an observer, Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to attend the regular monthly session of the EU foreign ministers. The last session before the summer holidays is to focus on Middle East and Iraq.

LJUBLJANA - Opposition Social Democrats' (SDS) leader Janez Jansa is to hold a press conference at noon to discuss current issues.
