Ljubljana, 20 July - The Competition Protection Office caused a stir with its long-awaited ruling that the consolidation between brewers Pivovarna Lasko and Pivovarna Union has not in fact occurred yet, as Lasko currently does not hold more than 50 percent of Union. The planned consolidation is, however, only allowed if Lasko meets certain terms, which include giving up some of the Union's trademarks temporarily. Meanwhile, the lawmakers finally adopted the umbrella bill on alleviating damage caused by natural disasters and decided that the referendum on Sunday shopping is to be held on 21 September. To help the country on its way to the eurozone, PM Anton Rop and central bank governor Mitja Gaspari agreed on drafting a joint programme.
