EU Membership not Only Cause of Slovenia's Financial Problems, Says Potocnik

Ljubljana, 25 July - Slovenia's EU accession will affect its public finances policy, "but nothing we hadn't known before is going on in this regard," Europe Minister Janez Potocnik told the press on Friday. Short-term heavy pressures on public finances are caused by conscious decisions adopted by Slovenia in December 2002 at the EU accession negotiations, he explained.
