Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 19 to 25 July
Ljubljana, 26 July - Two prominent guests paid visits to Slovenia this week, namely Irish PM Bertie Ahern on Thursday and Russian Deputy PM and Finance Minister Alexei Kurdin a day later. The government and the public sector trade unions agreed that wages in the public sector would not be harmonised in August, but instead public servants will get additional pension insurance. Meanwhile, Slovenia and the EU started negotiations on drawing funds from EU cohesion and strucutre funds between 2004 and 2006.
