Fire in Kras Causes Great Damage

Nova Gorica, 1 August - A huge fire that spread on Wednesday through dry pine woods and grass areas of southwestern Slovenia has destroyed some 1,250 hectares, while its damage is estimated at SIT 100m (EUR 0.42m), according to the local forestry institute. The damage caused to the environment by the biggest fire in the country in the last 30 years is still being examined.
