End of Conscription in Autumn?

Ljubljana, 1 August - The conscription service could be done away with as early as autumn, while the changes to the military service act set the end of June 2004 as the deadline, said head of the Defence Office of the Defence Ministry Igor Nered. However, Slovenian citizens will be able to serve on a voluntary basis even after the transition to a professional armed force.
