Delo on Patriotism in Schools

Ljubljana, 11 August - Another patriotic war has erupted between those who want patriotic education in schools and those who find that silly. A similar thing happened last year when advisor to defence minister Igor Kotnik Dvojmoc presented a concept of patriotic education in primary and secondary schools. He immediately became target of ridicule, especially from the left, because homeland and patriotism have always belonged to traditionalists, while the left-winged feel more cosmopolitan and above such things, writes Monday's edition of Delo.
