Schengen Border to See Additional 3,500 Officers Employed by 2006
Brežice, 12 August - Some 3,500 officers will have to be employed by 2006 on Slovenia's southern border, when the Schengen border regime is scheduled to come into full effect. Not including wages, the introduction of Schengen border will cost Slovenia SIT 7.5bn (EUR 31.9m), half of which the country will have to provide on its own, director general of the Slovenian police Marko Pogorevc told the press on Tuesday.
