Assumption of the Virgin Mary Celebrated in Slovenia Today
Ljubljana, 15 August - Slovenian catholics are celebrating on Friday the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, one of the most important holidays on the Catholic calendar. A traditional day for pilgrimage and a bank holiday, Friday will see a number of festive services around the country. The biggest and most important one will be taking place at the village of Brezje, some 50 km north of Ljubljana, where Ljubljana Archbishop and Slovenian metropolitan Franc Rode will offer mass.
