Ljubljana, 17 August - Record-breaking high temperatures and subsequent drought are still taking their toll on the Slovenian agriculture, so the government adopted certain measures aimed at assisting farmers to alleviate the current problems. First, it reintroduced subsidies for the export of live cattle intended for slaughter and then released 20,000 tonnes of maize to help farmers who are facing a shortage of fodder.
