NSKS Protests Against Lost Independence of Bilingual Schools in Carinthia
Klagenfurt, 22 August - The National Council of Slovenians in Carinthia (NSKS) protested on Friday against the planed restructuring of two bilingual schools in municipalities with a Slovenian minority in Austrian Carinthia. Carinthian Governor Joerg Haider has announced that, due to shortage of students and cost cuts, seven schools will lose their independence and become branches of larger schools.
