Law Expert Says Slovenia Granted Croatia Right to Exclusive Economic Zone
Split, 23 August - When Slovenia notified the UN Secretariat in 1995 of its succession to Yugoslavia's ratification of the Convention on the Law of the Sea, it included a note saying that the system of exclusive economic zones has become part of international law and stressed its rights as a geographically disadvantaged state, a Croatian law expert told the Croatian daily Slobodna Dalmacija in what is an ongoing debate over Croatia's right to declare an exclusive economic zone in the Adriatic.
