Delo on Abolishment of the Draft
Ljubljana, 10 September - Mandatory military service, the nightmare of so many generations of male civilians, will end in October, a year earlier than expected as December 2004 was the date for the final abolishment of the draft. The fast transition from compulsory military service to a professional army has come to an end in just little over a year, which is also a peculiar world record. Good news for politics, bad for the Slovenian Armed Forces, Delo says on Wednesday.
