SDS Loses the Word "Social" to Become "Democratic Party"
Ljubljana, 12 September - The opposition Social Democratic Party (SDS) has ended three years of talks on a rename and decided to become the Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS). As SDS president Janez Jansa told the press on Friday, the party wishes to promote the name of Slovenia and stress its Slovenian identity. The party's council is to vote on the formal rename next Friday.
