Bark Beetles Invasion Worst in a Decade

Ljubljana, 12 September - Sustained dry weather and exceptionally high temperatures have enabled what has now become an all-out invasion of bark beetles across Slovenia. The National Forestry Institute has estimated that over 224,000 cubic metres of trees have been attacked so far this year, while the figure could climb to 300,000 by the end of 2003.
