Ceremony Remembers Victims of War-time Killings
Turjak, 14 September - A memorial service was held on Sunday at the Turjak castle, near Ljubljana, in memory of some 200 Slovenians, members of what was known as village guards, who were killed by partisans in September 1943. After the capitulation of Italy, some 700 guard members gathered at Turjak where they were besieged and captured by the partisan forces.
