Old Metal Industry Hub in for Complete Regeneration
Jesenice, 17 September - Jesenice, a town in northwestern Slovenia, has a long iron-manufacturing tradition, but ever since the restructuring of the metal industry in the 1990's the area has faced increasing unemployment as well as a lack of development and appeal to new investments. Therefore the municipality started implementing a strategy of economic and spatial regeneration of Jesenice in 2000, with the first results showed today as Jesenice's commercial zone was opened.
