Courts to Decide on Child's Best Interests

Ljubljana, 18 September - The government on Thursday adopted proposed changes to the act on marriage and family relations which are to transfer the decisions on visitation rights and alimony from the social work centres to the courts. The changes also envisage the child to have the right to choose a confidant in the legal procedures, Alenka Kovsca, Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs State Secretary told the press following the weekly cabinet session.
