Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 13 to 19 September

Ljubljana, 20 September - Crime was the key word of the week this week in Slovenia. The case echoing the most was the arrest of several suspects connected to the two-year-old case of beaten-up journalist. Four persons have been detained on suspicion of attempted murder. Koper Mayor Boris Popovic is still in custody on suspicion of corruption. Another old case seems to be cracking as the police arrested a person suspected of stealing weapons from the Postojna barracks in 1999. Two criminal complaints have been filed in the case. Meanwhile the Celje prosecution charged a man of participating in a horrendous murder of a Velenje homeless person together with four minors.
