Ljubljana, 28 September - Schedule of events in the week from 29 September to 5 October:

MONDAY, 29. september

MOSCOW - Prime Minister Anton Rop is to begin a two-day official visit to Russia.

LJUBLJANA - The National Assembly is to begin its September session, to end on Thursday. PM Anton Rop is to answer lawmakers' questions on Wednesday morning.

BRUSSELS - FM Dimitrij Rupel is to attend a meeting of EU foreign ministers which is to discuss preparations for the upcoming IGC.

BRUSSELS - Agriculture Minister Franci But is to attend a meeting of his EU counterparts, who are to discuss the EU plans to liberalise the sugar market.

BRUSSELS - Transport Minister Jakob Presecnik is to take part in a meeting of transport ministers from EU acceding countries with the European Parliament's committee for regional policy, transport and tourism.

LJUBLJANA - The city council of Ljubljana is to convene for an emergency session to take a vote on its dissolution and early elections.

PORTOROZ - The White Paper on Health Reform is to be taken under scrutiny by experts who are to begin a two-day gathering.

LJUBLJANA - A two-day international conference SLOBIOM is to begin, dealing with economic instruments for renewable sources of energy in SE Europe.

LJUBLJANA - European Youth Week is to begin, through 5 October.

BLED - A press conference ahead of a seminar at which EU candidate countries will be presented the EU's employment strategy.

LJUBLJANA - An accord on co-operation in science between the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and France's National Centre for Scientific Research is to be signed.

LJUBLJANA - A press conference upon the conclusion of the 10th international festival EX ponto; the winning production is to be presented.

TUESDAY, 30 September

MOSCOW - Togehter with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Kasyanov, PM Anton Rop is to open a new production facility of Krka, Slovenia's leading exporter to Russia, before completing the visit.

LJUBLJANA - The National Election Commission is to release the official result of the 21 September referendum on opening hours of shops.

LJUBLJANA - Ombudsman Matjaz Hanzek is to give a press conference about his activity concerning children's rights.

WEDNESDAY, 1 October

LJUBLJANA - The executive committee and the council of the coalition People's Party (SLS) are to hold separate sessions to set the date and the place of an early congress at which a new leadership is to be elected.

VILNIUS - Europe Minister Janez Potocnik is to begin a two-day visit to Lithuania.

LJUBLJANA - National grid operator, ELES, is to give a press conference.

FLORENCE - Culture Minister Andreja Rihter is to attend a two-day informal session of EU's culture minister and acceding countries.

THURSDAY, 2 October

LUXEMBOURG - The interior and justice ministers, Rado Bohinc and Ivan Bizjak, are to take part in a two-day monthly meeting of their counterparts from the EU and acceding countries.

LJUBLJANA - Ljubljanski sejem, the company managing the Ljubljana fairgrounds, is to present the 50th international fair Contemporary Electronics.

LJUBLJANA - Weekly government session.

FRIDAY, 3 October

LJUBLJANA - Secretary General of the European Commission David O'Sullivan is to pay a visit.

ROME - Defence Minister Anton Grizold is to attend an informal meeting of EU defence ministers.

PORTOROZ - The Ljubljana Stock Exchange is to organise the 6th autumn meeting of financial experts.

SATURDAY, 4 October

ROME - Prime Minister Anton Rop is to attend an extraordinary EU summit which will officially launch the new IGC. Rop is to be accompanied by FM Dimitrij Rupel.

SUNDAY, 5 October

PIRAN - A two-day international conference on challenges and opportunities for small and medium companies in the EU is to begin.
