MONDAY, 6 October

ROME - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to hold talks with Italian FM Franco Frattini about Croatia's recent declaration of a protective fisheries and ecological zone.

TASHKENT - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to arrive on a two-day official visit to Uzbekistan.

LJUBLJANA - The government is to convene for an extraordinary session to confirm the 2004 and 2005 budget implementation bill.

LJUBLJANA - The Ministry of Agriculture is to stage a press conference to present its views of Croatia's declaration of a protective fisheries and ecological zone

BRUSSELS - Ministers from EU members and acceding countries responsible for structural policy and regional development are to hold an informal meeting. Chair of the Government Office for Structural Policy and Regional development Zdenka Kovac will attend the meeting on behalf of Slovenia.

ROME - Chair of the parliamentary commission on European affairs Alojz Peterle and MP Bogdan Barovic are to attend a meeting of Cosac, the committee of heads of parliamentary working bodies on European affairs, to discuss the reform of the EU from the point of view of national parliaments.

LJUBLJANA - Portuguese Parliament Speaker Joao Bosco Mota Amaral is to visit Slovenia at the invitation of his Slovenian counterpart Borut Pahor. Talks with President Janez Drnovsek and PM Anton Rop are also scheduled.

SKOPJE - Agriculture Minister Franci But is to start a three-day official visit to Macedonia. he is scheduled to meet with his Macedonian counterpart Slavko Petrov, Economics Minister Ilija Filipovski and representatives of Slovenian companies in Macedonia.

PRAGUE - National Council President Janez Susnik is to attend a meeting of the association of European senates.

BERLIN - Ljubljana mayor Danica Simsic is to start a two-day visit to the German capital. She is to hold talks with Berlin mayor Klaus Wowereit and meet Slovenians living in Berlin.

PORTOROZ - The beginning of the tenth advertising festival of New Europe, the Golden Drum.

LJUBLJANA - The coalition Liberal Democracy (LDS) is to stage a press conference to talk about current political issues.

TUESDAY, 7 October

BUCHAREST - Economics Minister Tea Petrin is to visit Romania. As part of her visit, the Slovenian-Romanian commission for economic co-operation is to meet.

LUXEMBOURG - Finance Minister Dusan Mramor is to attend a regular monthly meeting of EU finance ministers which is to examine the European Commission's scheme to boost economic growth in the EU.

LJUBLJANA - Economics Minister Tea Petrin is to officially launch a portal of stock markets from SE Europe at the Ljubljana Stock Exchange (LJSE).

NOVA GORICA - Business paper Finance and daily Primorske novice are to stage a forum debating the establishment of an euroregion, transport after EU enlargement, expansion of business beyond state borders, and winemaking in Italy and Slovenia.

LJUBLJANA - The anti-corruption Agency for Management and Transparency and the government Anti-Corruption Office are to hold a seminar on corruption at the local level.

WEDNESDAY, 8 October

STOCKHOLM - PM Anton Rop is to arrive on an official visit to Sweden at the invitation of his Swedish counterpart Goeran Persson.

ASTANA - Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel is to start a two-day official visit to Kazakhstan.

COLORADO - Defence Minister Anton Grizold is to attend a two-day informal meeting of
defence ministers from NATO members and newcomers.

LJUBLJANA - Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Services Slobodan Milosavljevic is to arrive on a three-day visit to Slovenia.

DUBLIN - A delegation of the Agriculture Minister, led by State Secretary Iztok Jarc, is to start a two-day visit to Ireland.

ROME - President of the Chamber of Commerce and Trade (GZS), Jozko Cuk, is to attend the annual assembly and congress of the European association of chambers of commerce, the Eurochambers.

LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Gazelle 2003 award will be conferred for the most propulsive Slovenian company.

THURSDAY, 9 October

LUXEMBOURG - Transport Minister Jakob Presecnik is to attend a meeting of ministers in charge of transport from current and future EU members.

LJUBLJANA - Weekly government session.

LJUBLJANA - The Ljubljana-branch of the International Organisation of Migrations and the British Embassy in Slovenia are to stage a seminar on the prevention of human trafficking.

PORTOROZ - The beginning of the days of Slovenian lawyers, an annual event organised by the Association of Slovenian legal Experts and the published GV Zalozba.

FRIDAY, 10 October

BRATISLAVA - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Samuel Zbogar is to attend a meeting of foreign ministry state secretaries from EU members and acceding countries.

CRNOMELJ - Slovenian and Croatian mayors from all bordering municipalities are to convene at a conference to debate changes that local communities on both sides of the state border can expect after Slovenia becomes an EU member.
