Slovenia Wants Treatment of Statistically Impaired Region

Brussels, 6 October - After 2006, Slovenia wants a status of a statistically impaired region in the next EU financial perspective and be entitled as such to more structural aids. Otherwise the country will insist to be divided in two or more regions, said Regional Development Minister Zdenka Kovac after a meeting of EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Michel Barnier and ministers from EU acceding countries.
