Rejection of EEA Enlargement Comes as Surprise, Comments Minister Potocnik

Ljubljana/Vaduz, 14 October - Liechtenstein's failure to sign the agreement to expand the European Economic Area (EEA) to ten future EU members is a surprise since preliminary negotiations passed without major complications, said Slovenian Europe Minister Janez Potocnik. "Of course there were certain bilateral issues between the countries, but I had expected them to be solved by the signing of the document," was his comment to Tuesday's blockade of EEA enlargement by Liechtenstein.
