FIFA Standings: Slovenia Gains Four Places to 29th

Zurich, 22 October - In the wake of its second-place group finish in the Euro 2004 qualifications, the Slovenian national side has gained four places on FIFA's national team standings and is now 29th. According to the international football federation, Brazil is still the world's best national team, while France, Slovenia's opponents in Euro qualifying, are second. Croatia, the team Slovenian will face in the do-or-die playoffs for the Euro finals, are in 20th.
