Ljubljana, 28 October - The STA English service will cover the following events on Wednesday, 29 October:
BRDO PRI KRANJU - A ministerial conference on illegal migration and crime is to begin. Interior ministers from Slovenia, Bulgaria, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Hungary, Macedonia, Romania, Italy and Serbia-Montenegro are to attend, togehter with the Albanian minister of public order and several top EU officials. At 1.30 PM, a joint statement is to be signed and a press conference given.
BRUSSELS - The European Commission is to release its autumn economic forecast for EU states and acceding countries, including Slovenia.
BRDO PRI KRANJU - Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik is to begin a two-day official visit in the afternoon. He is to meet with Prime Minister Anton Rop on Wednesday, and with Speaker Borut Pahor on Thursday. Rop and Bondevik are to give a press conference at 6 PM CET.
LJUBLJANA - The parliamentary foreign policy committe and the European affairs commission are to hold a joint session to discuss the course of the IGC. To begin at 8.30 AM.
LJUBLJANA - The Social Democrats (SDS) are to present at 1 PM the SDS list of candidates for elections to European Parliament due next year.
LJUBLJANA - A technical bill on the erased is to be debated in emergency procedure as MPs resume their October session. Another item on the agenda will be the 2002 annual report by the Ombudsman.
MARIBOR - The 38th Borstnik Meeting - Slovenia's leading theatre festival - is to finish in the evening with awards being conferred on the best productions and actors. Moreover, an actor is to receive a Borstnik Ring, a major award for life-time achievement in theatre. Prior to that, a selector of the next edition of the festival is to be elected.
LJUBLJANA - At 10.30 AM, the Statistics Office is to present immigration flows from the former Yugoslavia into Slovenia since 1961 as well as some fresh economic and social indicators.
HELSINKI - Minister for Structural Policy and Regional Development Zdenka Kovac continues her four-day visit to Finland.
