Stipe Mesič appointed as President of the Presidency of Yugoslavia
Ljubljana, 1 July - Early this morning Mr. Stipe Mesič was appointed as President of the Presidency of Yugoslavia under the special supervision of the foreign ministers of Italy, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. The president of the government of the Republic of Slovenia sent Mr. Stipe Mesič a message today, in which he expresses expectations that special attention will be aimed for ending battles in Slovenia. Mr. Peterle also sent a letter to the president of the federal government, Mr. Marković, in which he reports the numerous violations of cease-fire. The situation in Slovenia is still tense, despite last night's agreement on cease-fire.
