Ljubljana, 9 July - VEČER: The price of Internationalization - The Brioni commpromise is also the price of the internationalization of the Yugoslav conflict. If prior to the break out of war, the Slovene people welcomed foreign intervention in solving the Balkan knot, they must now accept the fact that this intervention will pose certain demands, not only to Yugoslavia but to Slovenia also. This is what happened at Brioni, whether we like it or not. After all, foreign understanding of the negotiating process differs from the South Slav's, who like to negotiate by demanding total surrender from the opposing side, unconditionally if possible. Even more civilized states than ours did not achieve peace in this way. At present it is most important that the Brioni Declaration does not invalidate the achieved legal formal independence of Slovenia, which was an ambition of Ante Marković, stresses Milan Predan.
