REPUBLICAN EXECUTIVE COUNCIL'S DEBATE ON WAR DAMAGES
Ljubljana, 16 July - The Executive council of the Republic of Slovenia has today debated the information on the material damages caused by the Yugoslav army during its intervention in the Republic of Slovenia. According to the latest estimations, the damage is estimated at 102 Billion Dinars. In order that the consequent damages be recovered as soon as possible and since there are no other funds available, the Executive Council will appropriate the Solidarity Fund that was set up in accordance with a special law, by which funds were collected for the damages by floods which struck Slovenia last year. A special, priority list has been created, listing the damage which must be reimbursed first, so that living and working conditions return to normal as soon as possible. As the first priority are also listed the destroyed or damaged residential buildings which need immediate attention, so that living and working is again made possible. Also, repayment of damage must immediately be rendered for the destroyed commercial and private vehicles, which were used on the barricades. It is also necessary to repay the damage that was done to the Post Office and Radio and Television structures and buildings, the airport buildings and the uninsured equipment belonging to Adria Airways as well as to those agricultural produce that represent the only means of livelihood.
