A SURVEY OF THE REPORTS IN SLOVENE NEWSPAPERS

Ljubljana, 19 July - DELO: A Tactical Retreat - Caution is advised with all assertions that the resolution passed by the Presidency of the S.F.R.Y. already mean the actual recognition of Slovenia's independence. This state will achieve formal independence and actual safety once the republics of Yugoslavia are prepared to grant it such without beating about the bush. If anything, the resolution on the Yugoslav army's withdrawal from Slovenia proves that the Yugoslav nations are capable of reaching an understanding about the issues they wage war over without the intercession of a federal arbiter. This means that separate talks between the Yugoslav nations are necessary and a coalition among them inevitable; wrote Miran Lesjak.
