Ljubljana, 25 July - VEČER: A YUGOSLAVIA WITHOUT SLOVENIA, July 26. - Now that it is becoming obvious that the Yugoslav Army is serious about its withdrawal from Slovenia, two demands are being put before Slovenia's political leadership: not to do anything that would, through the fault of the leadership, slow down the withdrawal and to do everything in its power to maintain at least some alliances with the previously joint state. Now is not the right time to occupy oneself with the question of how many billions of dollars worth of weapons and equipment belonging to the YA Slovenia ought to demand back in regard to the division of Federal property. Apparently there are no doubts among the highest circles of Slovenia's leadership concerning the fact that getting the Army out of Slovenia as quickly as possible has absolute priority over the realization that Slovenia will in all likelihood have to write off its portion of this joint property for good. This proves at the same time, that the pragmatical line of Slovene policy embodied by Mr. Kučan and Mr. Drnovšek and the most operative members of the Slovene Government, has gained strength markedly during the past weeks and pushed into the background those who are opposed to any compromise whatsoever with the remains of the federation, wrote Milan Predan.
