Franc Horvat:Ttransition to a flexible rate of exchange for the dinar
Ljubljana, 26 July - The President of the Chamber of Economy of Slovenia Franc Horvat stated for STA, that one of the measures taken by the Chamber of Economy in the future term will be the transition to a flexible rate of exchange for the dinar, which would be valid also in all exchange offices and for the purchase of foreign currency. The exchange must be equalized with the exchange rates in the European countries immediately. It is also necessary to ensure conditions for banking business to be conducted with foreign partners, who have literally stopped doing business with Slovenia due to the war in our country, and also due to the measures taken by the National Bank of Yugoslavia and the Federal Executive Council. Mr Horvat stated in connection with the illegal seizure of Slovene property in Serbia, that the variant political orientation is having a very negative effect on the economic relations between the two republics. As a member of the mission of goodwill which wishes to visit all the Yugoslav republics during the next week, Mr Horvat will attempt to establish normal economic relations.
