Review of Events in Slovenia between June 18 and 24

Slovenian Parliament was in session last week. Rina Klinar of Associated List of Social Democrats (ZLSD) was appointed as the new Minister of Labour, Family and Social Affairs, the law on disability compensation payments was turned down in second vote, and the so called "tobacco law" was adopted. The day before the Sovereign Statehood Day, a National Day celebrated on June 25, a special session was held in Parliament. President of Slovenia Milan Kučan gave a reception for the members of the diplomatic-consular assembly and prominent Slovenians on this occasion, and Slovenian Metropolitan and Archbishop of Ljubljana Alojzij Šuštar offered a mass for the Homeland.
