British Ambassador on EU Enlargement

Ljubljana, 22 March - Enlargement will clearly affect EU institutions, so they need to be strengthened. But the test should be not whether strengthening an institution tilts the balance of power towards or away from member states but whether it works better as a result. We need for example to find ways to ensure the European Council can give stronger political leadership. We need an EU that is more efficient and that delivers tangible benefits to its citizens, UK Ambassador Hugh Mortimer explained in an interview for STA.
