EU Doesn't Give Enough Funds to Poor Acceding States, Says Goebbels
Bled, 3 April - The EU does not earmark enough funds to poor acceding countries, MEP Robert Goebbels said in a debate staged at Bled on Saturday. While the Union cannot solve the social problems of each country, it can show active solidarity with less developed states, stressed the vice-president of the deputy group of European Social-Democrats (PES), adding that this is urgent for a successful enlargement and the implementation of the Lisbon agenda.
