LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to hold a ceremonial session to mark Slovenia's NATO entry at 7 PM. The event is to be followed by the national ceremony at Cankarjev dom convention centre at 8 PM, with President Janez Drnovsek as the keynote speaker. (STA)
WICKLOW, Ireland - Europe Minister Janez Potocnik is to begin a two-day working visit to Ireland, to attend "Communicating Europe", an informal ministerial conference organised by the Irish EU presidency.
ANKARA, Turkey - Minister of the Interior Rado Bohinc is set to begin an official two-day visit to Turkey, to meet his Turkish counterpart Abdulkadir Aksu and sign an agreement to fight drug-trafficking, international terrorism and other severe crimes. Turkey's bid to join the EU and the Cyprus issue are also to be on his agenda.
BRUSSELS, Belgium - The European Parliament's committee on budgetary control is set to hear Vojko Antoncic, the Slovenian candidate for the European Court of Auditors. After hearing all candidates from the EU newcomers, the committee is to pass its opinion and forward it to the parliament for the final seal of approval. (STA)
PULA, Croatia - Foreign Ministry State Secretary Andrej Logar is to attend three-way talks on the protective zone declared by Croatia with his Italian and Croatian counterparts. Croatia's Hido Biscevic is to give a statement to the press, expectedly at 5.30 PM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Continuing its emergency session, parliament is to adopt a stance on constitutional changes to the articles dealing with the disabled and with referendums; begins at 10 AM. (STA)
PORTOROZ - A three-day symposium on new methods in accounting, finance and auditing is to begin at 9.30 AM, with a press conference following at 1 PM. The event will be addressed by head of the Securities Market Agency Neven Borak. It is organised by the Slovenian Association of Economists.
LJUBLJANA - The programme of the international conference "Science and Society in the Enlarged EU" is to be presented to the press at 10 AM by the Slovenian Science Foundation, the National Council and the Austrian Science and Research Liaison Office of Ljubljana.
MARIBOR - A round-table debate on the right of the Roma to education is to be held a day prior to World Roma Day; at 2 PM.
LJUBLJANA - On World Health Day, Health Minister Dusan Keber and his aides are to present activities aimed at upgrading road safety (9.15 AM), to be followed by an event on the same topic organised by the Public Health Institute.
LJUBLJANA - The candidate for head of the Medical Chamber of Slovenia, Gordana Kalan Zivcec, is to hold a press conference at 11 AM.
LJUBLJANA - A debate on fiction written by Slovenians abroad is to begin at 10 AM, organised by Slovenska matica.
ISTANBUL, Turkey - Efes Pilsen of Turkey is to take on Slovenia's Union Olimpija at 8.10 PM in the final, 6th week of the Euroleague's round of 16; group E. (STA)
