Verheugen Says Commission Does Not Plans Measures Against Slovenia

Brussels, 18 April - Slovenia has been and is the best prepared acceding country, so no enlargement shocks are expected when it enters the EU on 1 May or beyond, European Enlargement Commissioner Guenter Verheugen said in an interview for STA. In Slovenia's case, the EU is not considering introducing any safeguard measures or launching procedures due to a violation of the acquis, stressed Verheugen.
