A comment on yesterday's coup

Ljubljana, 4 October - In "Studio at 5 p.m." - a current affairs programme presented by Station 1 of Radio Ljubljana, President of the Yugoslav Presidency Stipe Mesić, when asked to give his opinion regarding yesterday's session of the diminished Presidency said "...a military coup was carried out already when the Yugoslav Army (YA) attacked Slovenia and began arming the Serbian rebels in Croatia. Yesterday's session is only only a formal admission to an act that was carried out already long ago. The coup in Belgrade proves that Yugoslavia no longer exists and that Milošević is behind it all," said Stipe Mesić. Regarding General Kadijević, President Mesić said he was an instrument in the hands of Milošević's policy and that he will answer for his crimes like all war criminals.
