Ljubljana, 20 April - Below is a schedule of events for Wednesday, 21 April:
PORTOROZ - A three-day international conference on the Slovenian law and economy in the light of EU accession is to open at 10 AM, organised by the Ljubljana and Maribor Faculties of Law and the European Commission Delegation to Slovenia. Attending will be PM Anton Rop, Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor, FM Dimitrij Rupel, the former Europe Minister Janez Potocnik, EU Ambassador Erwan Fouere and Director General of DG Enlargement Fabrizio Barbaso. LJUBLJANA - The Ljubljana Faculty of Social Sciences is to mark Slovenia's EU accession with a gathering at 3 PM. Among those attending will be Foreign Minister Dimitrij Rupel and a number of faculty professors, who will speak about research about different aspects of EU entry.
LJUBLJANA - The parliament is to continue the extraordinary session at 10 AM by discussing EU-compatible legislation. The agenda includes changes to the energy act and changes to the insurance act. (STA)

LJUBLJANA - The council of the Liberal Democrats (LDS) is to finalise its Euro slate, which has been drafted together with the Pensioners' Party (DeSUS), at a session that begins at 5.30 PM.
LJUBLJANA - Information Society Minister Pavel Gantar, who is in charge of organising state ceremonies at EU accession, is to speak to the press about the events on 30 April and 1 May.
LJUBLJANA - President Janez Drnovsek is to receive Human Rights Ombusman Matjaz Hanzek at noon, who will present him the 2003 human rights report.
THE VATICAN - Outgoing Ljubljana Archbishop and Slovenian Metropolitan Franc Rode will take over the post of prefect of the Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life.
LJUBLJANA - The Association of Free Trade Unions (ZSSS) is to speak to the press at 1 PM about its positions on the 2004-2005 pay policy.
LJUBLJANA - Teleinfos, Slovenia's biggest annual IT show, is to open at 5 PM. The focus of the event will be the link between universities and businesses. (STA)
