On the Eve of the Expiration of the Brioni Agreement

Ljubljana, 6 October - Tomorrow, three months will have passed since the signing of the Brioni Declaration and in Slovenia final preparations are taking place for the approval of the last remaining independence acts. This evening a session of the Slovenian government is taking place and tomorrow (October 7) a joint session of all the chambers of the Slovenian government is announced for 3 p.m. Most of the uncertainties in relation to the independence of Slovenia remain in the monetary field. At the moment it is only known that Slovenia will initially introduce coupons as a means of payment. These will replace the present Yugoslav currency - the dinar. Within six months Slovenians are then to have a "true" currency.
