Prodi: In 5 Years Next Commission President May Come from Newcomer
Brussels, 29 April - On the eve of the biggest EU enlargement to date, President of the European Commission Romano Prodi on Thursday expressed great optimism and satisfaction with the process and was convinced there will be no enlargement shocks. He also expects a relatively fast integration of newcomers, among them Slovenia, and believes they will quickly play the full role in the EU. "It is quite possible that in five years time the next president of the Commission will come from one of the new members," said Prodi in an interview for STA.
