Weekly Review of Events Involving Slovenia from 24 to 30 April

Ljubljana, 1 May - The week ahead of Slovenia's EU entry was dominated by the last preparations for the historic event, culminating in mass celebrations all around the country. Main national ceremonies were held at border towns and cities to symbolically mark the fall of borders. In the run-up to the festivities, modernised facilities were opened at several border crossings as Slovenia's border with Croatia has become the external border of the EU.
