Ljubljana, 6 May - Below is a schedule of events for Friday, 7 May:
BRUSSELS, Belgium - The European Commission is scheduled to hold its regular weekly session for the first time in its new formation of 30 commissioners, including Slovenia's Janez Potocnik. Topping the agenda are the 2007-2013 budget and the continuation of talks on the EU's constitutional treaty. (STA)
MARIBOR - Representatives of the Party of European Socialists (PES) who are on the Committee of Regions, are to hold a meeting organised by the Maribor Municipality. Interior Minister Rado Bohinc is scheduled to present Slovenia's view on inter-regional and cross-border cooperation in the EU. EU Ambassador to Slovenian Erwan Fouere is also expected to attend the event, which starts at 9 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Parliament is to resume the extraordinary session at 10 AM. (STA)
LJUBLJANA - Prime Minister Anton Rop is to present the joint candidate list of the Liberal Democrats (LDS) and Pensioners' Party (DeSUS) for elections to the European Parliament. At 9 AM.
ROGLA - The Regional Business Forum of the Celje region is set to host a two-day conference focusing on trade between Macedonia and Slovenia after the latter joined the EU. Slovenian and Macedonian economics ministers, Matej Lahovnik and Stevce Jakimovski, are scheduled to attend the event which starts at 10:40 AM.
ANKARAN - The International Trust Fund for Demining and Mine Victims Assistance (ITF) is to hold a press conference at 12:30 PM.
MARIBOR - Young painters, writers and photographers participating in a competition "Europe through Culture and Sports" are to be awarded as the "Europe in School" event wraps up. EU Ambassador to Slovenian Erwan Fouere is expected to attend.
LJUBLJANA - The Slovenian Beekeeping Association is to talk to the press at 10 AM to address the problem of insecticides which it says are killing bees en masse.
