Slovenia Drew its Strength from Culture and Language, Rihter Says

Berlin, 6 May - Throughout history Slovenia's poets and writers played a more important role than its soldiers and politicians, said Culture Minister Andreja Rihter at a meeting of culture ministers from the new EU states in Berlin on Thursday. "We drew the strength for our success not from military victories, diplomatic skill or accumulation of wealth, but from our culture and language," she underscored at the launch of the Culture Year of the Ten.
