Slovenia to Host European Capital of Culture in 2012

Ljubljana, 8 May - Slovenia and Portugal have been named by the culture committee of the European Parliament to host European capitals of culture in 2012, in line with a decision that there will be two culture capitals per year after 2009, one from the old and one from the new EU member states.
