Letter of the director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute to president Bush
Ljubljana, 13 October - The director of the Ruđer Bošković Institute in Zagreb wrote a letter to president Bush, in which he appeals to him to do everything in his power to enable humanitarian help, intended for civilians in Vukovar, to actually arrive there. The letter also warns him that the Yugoslav army, while not allowing this help to pass through, prepares the strongest attack yet on Vukovar, which puts in danger the lives of more than 15000 civilians.
