Maribor Marks Prequel to Independence War

Maribor, 22 May - A celebration was staged Saturday in front of a military training centre near Maribor, to celebrate the 13th anniversary of an incident between the Yugoslav People's Army and the Slovenian defence forces which went on to become the Slovenian Independence War in 1991. Delivering the keynote address, Parliament Speaker Borut Pahor said that Slovenia's statehood is not a set fortunate circumstances but a result of the people's determination to pursue freedom and a better future.
